Air India connects Chandigarh-Bangkok direct, thrice a week

Air India has started a direct flight from Chandigarh to Bangkok. The flight will operate on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday every week. The flight took off at 2 in the afternoon carrying 122 passengers. It is a five-hour long flight.  However, 40 passengers traveled in the maiden flight to Chandigarh from Bangkok. The flight arrived in Chandigarh at 8.40 am and took off at 2 pm.

Arrival and Departure details

Moreover, the flight is scheduled to depart from Chandigarh at 2 pm and reach Bangkok at 8.15 pm (Bangkok local time) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On the other hand, the flight will take off from Bangkok at 5.40 am (Bangkok local time) and lend Chandigarh at 9.20 am (IST).

Furthermore, Air India officials held a press conference to give details about this flight. Talking about the same, Pankaj Kumar, Executive Director) Sales and Marketing), Air India said, “The Chandigarh-Bangkok flight will be a success. It will offer better connectivity to passengers from tricity and nearby cities in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. This market has potential and once the demand increases, we shall consider increasing the frequency of the flight.”

However, Suneel Dutt, CEO, Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL), said the flight was a long-pending demand of the people and the northern region has a growing demand and potential. “With the Chandigarh-Bangkok flight, more international take-offs can be seen from this regional airport,” he added.Chandigarh Bangkok lfight

Moreover, for many passengers, the flight is good news for business. “I used to travel to Kolkata first to get a direct flight to Myanmar. This flight will help me reach Myanmar in less time via Bangkok,” said Gurwinder Singh, from Mohali, who an export business. “This destination was much needed for Chandigarh. The airlines should add more international destinations from Chandigarh because this place has a huge potential,” he added.

Therefore, it is the third international destination that is directly connected with Chandigarh. Air India subsidiary, Air India Express, already runs a Chandigarh-Sharjah flight. Hence, IndiGo operates a flight to Dubai.
