AUTHENTIC AMERICAN CUISINE BECKONS FOOD ENTHUSIASTS AT WELCOMHOTEL BELLA VISTA’S BBQ AMERICANO FOOD FIESTA

A one of a kind Food festival ‘BBQ Americano’ which has curated some flavourful & authentic American Barbeque & Grill favorites, has started at WelcomHotel Bella Vista, Sec 5, Panchkula’s Upstairs Club. The festival is on from September 14 till September 23, 2018. Details of this one-of-a-kind food fiesta were shared with media by Akshay Malhotra, Executive Chef from ITC Hotels Group & Vivek Khanna, GM, WelcomHotel Bellavista.
The menu at the festival boasts of sumptuous dishes selected by Chef Akshay Malhotra and his team. Educated at Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY – the World’s Top Ranked Culinary Management Institute , Akshay has worked in USA and has a penchant for American culinary traditions.
“Akshay’s experience with American food can be seen in the wide array of dishes that he has made part of the festival. It gives me immense pleasure to inform that WelcomHotel Bella Vista has regularly been promoting culinary arts & traditions of different countries & India at food festivals. ‘BBQ Americano’ is a part in the same series of food fests being put up by us. Our property is a unique one in the tricity. The reason is that it boasts of 7 private cum semi-private plunge pools, 15 Jacuzzis, a beautiful Mountain View, top class banquet facilities & world class F & B options.” Said Vivek Khanna – General Manager (WelcomHotel Bella Vista).
A live barbeque cooking session in typical American style was also shown to the media at the event. The chef showcased preparations of Beer Can Chicken & Pineapple Taco. The preparations at the festival are based on farm to plate concept. Fresh vegetables are picked from farm and these go into the various dishes.
“We have tried to put up an original American food menu. Live Barbeques & Grills will be used to prepare traditional American recipes, that have been selected across food genres like Appetizers, American street food, Sea foodRotisserie(roasted/barbequed) dishes etc. Apart from burgers & pizzas crafted in typical American style we are offering ‘Gonocchis’, or homemade Pastas, Risotto recipes – Risotto’s are Italian short grain rice and much more. The sauces & cheese we have used make the fare delightful. ” Said Chef Akshay Malhotra, Executive Chef, ITC Hotels Group.
There are Appetizers and Salads that one can start his or her culinary journey with at BBQ Americano. Chicago Pizza bites & Pineapple Taco in choice of vegetable or cottage cheese are attractions in the veg section here. In the non-veg segment some interesting dishes available are Lamb albondigas in tomato & date and Chicken schnitzel with spicy walnut romesco. Artisan Pastas and Risottos-which are traditional short grain Italian Rice based recipes, has options in Veg & Non-Veg. In Veg there is Pumpkin Gonocchi(handmade pasta) with homemade Ricotta(unsalted cheese), Himalayan Millet and Root vegetable Risotto is also there. In the Non-Veg section dishes like Broken Wheat Risotto with pulled free-range chicken(chicken from the wild — which is more flavorsome) and Spaghetti & BBQ Meatballs are attracting eyeballs.
Can an American food menu be complete without Burgers? There is a choice of Signature Burgers at the festival. Spinach and Himachal Mushrooms burger, Pulled BBQ Pork Slider, Smoked Chicken Burger, Crispy Fish & Braised Mutton are all mouthwatering.
The unique aspect at the festival is the Live BBQ Grills menu. In vegetarian Grilled Polenta Sandwich & Banana tostones with caramelized chilly jaggery glaze are must try’s. In the Seafood Selection one can choose from Pepper Sole, Banana Leaf-wrapped Sole with corn salsa etc are there. In the Meat Selection, the attractions are Split Sausages, Braised Lamb Neck among others.
Rotisserie(roasted/barbequed ) Specials include Eggplant Tomato BakeRoast Pumpkin. In Non Vegetarian Selection Whole Beer Can Chicken is a must try.
The Sauces one can choose from are quite a draw the list boasts of Smoked BBQ, Red Wine Espresso BBQ, Carribian Jerk, Mustard Vinegar.
The Sides at the festival are inviting too. The icing on the cake is a tasty Gelato (Italian style ice cream) collection .
