On the occasion of Women’s Day, the staff of Chandigarh Traffic Police organized Road Safety Awareness campaigns at two different places i.e. Govt. College of Commerce & Business, Sector-50, Chandigarh in the morning and at Plaza, Sector-17 in the evening. In the morning event, Sh. Rajeev Kumar Ambasta, DSP/Traffic–South, Insp. Sita Devi, I/C–CTP and Principal as well as 10 Professors/Lecturers and about 100 students of the College were present. During this event, 450 literature on road safety was distributed amongst the professors/lecturers and students of the College. Apart from this, 50 stickers under the title “Helmet Saves Her Head Too” were distributed to the female students as well as 5 helmets were also presented to 5 female students, to encourage the use of a helmet while riding a two-wheeler by a female.
In the evening event at Plaza, Sector-17, about 65 persons participated. Several questions were asked on road signs to females and who replied correctly, the helmet was presented to her. During this event, 5 helmets were presented to different 5 females to encourage them to wear a helmet while riding the two-wheeler. Apart from this, 50 stickers under the title “Helmet Saves Her Head Too” were also distributed amongst the females.
