This Wedding season keeps your best foot forward with the latest style that enhances your personality. Marriages these days are no less than a fashion show where everybody makes it a point to showcases their best. The Bollywood divas have been giving us major fashion goals with their style and designer clothes done by ace designers.

Tricity residents have some great designers who help them look their best. Wedding exhibitions around the city showcase some great work by designers all around. These designer wears help you keep your style game strong.

Here we bring you a few ideas for the wedding season

An Interaction with two eminent designers from the city beautiful, namely- Jaswant Shergill who has her own label called ‘Anoop Apparels’ and Preety Sidhu showcases her collection under ‘Preety Sidhu Collection’. They have been in the fashion market for quite some time now with some real good work. Their collections are very different from one another and showcasing the latest trends and designs. Class and grace is what their labels offer!

Speaking to Jaswant about what is the in trend for a wedding this season she says, “High waste lehengas and crop cholis are a lot in demand. Lehengas with volume is the in thing. The Glitter is gone! Women are more into the subtle and elegant look. Rich embroidery such as Gota Patti, Aarhi work, Zarri work is being liked more.

Preety’s label offers, High-Low gowns paired with comfortable plazzos, organza jackets over suits, suits and gowns with bell sleeves, making the collection stylish yet comfortable.

Fabrics and Colours

Preety says: “People are going in for pastel colours and organza is doing the rounds this season.” Jaswant quips, “Since weddings in India happen in winters, so people prefer Velvets, brocades, raw silk and of course organza.”

Fusion or Traditional

Preety says: “Fusion is the in a thing, and that is what we focus on. We have created Umbrella cut High-Low gowns with hand embroidered organza dupattas to give it an ethnic look. The whole collection is based on pastel colours.”

“It is something very personal since everybody has their own choice and comfort when it comes to dressing up. But looking at the market, people are experimenting more with fusion”, added Jaswant Shergill comparing fusion and tradition.

Bollywood and Fashion

Jaswant says: “Fashion has always been influenced by Bollywood ever since.” “Deepika’s look from ‘Bajirao Mastani’ was at a big hit and now ‘Padmavati’ is doing the rounds.”

On to the same Preety said “People like to dress up like their favourite celeb irrespective of their body type. My designs are for women from all age groups so that it looks graceful and elegant.”

Fashion for Men

Speaking about if men are as conscious as women in terms of fashion Jaswant shares, “Men have started catching up with fashion and consciously work on their look. Bottle green is the new colour for men this year. Nehru jackets, double-breasted suits, scarves, brooches are back in trend.”

Preety Sidhu says, “Do your own thing and don’t follow trends blindly. Wear something that makes you feel confident.”

Jaswant Sidhu adds, “Classic is always in and can never go wrong. So keep it Simple yet classy.”
