On this day Brahmins / poor people should be given alms especially kheer and donate dakshina.

Sharad Purnima fasting is especially done to attain Lakshmi. Awakening in the house on this day also benefits in wealth.
On the night of Sharad Purnima, food should be taken only after offering to the moon.
On the day of Sharad Purnima, making kheer and donating it in the temple is also beneficial. It is believed that on this day, the moonlight brings amrit.

Cover the kheer with a mesh in a lunar ray in such a way that no animal or bird should be tied – after worship, distribute the pudding of kheer to your family members after 12 pm.
